If you have previously read my blog or stumbled upon this one you wont find much activity here now! But head over to http://www.rapunzelthepsychologist.com/ as this is my new blog address and a much improved blog (if I may say so myself!).
January is over and February is here which means a post about what I want to do in February!
♥On my wish list..♥
- Go to the gym. I finally found a gym that I can go to! I’m actually going to go there later today and I’ve decided to go there 2 times a week. As mentioned before I don’t have time to do anything else than be at work and travel to work on the days that I work, so going to the gym twice a week so work with my schedule. I’m excited to get stronger, and work on my stamina (which is definitely needed!).
- Find a planner. I actually bought a really pretty planner the other day but when I got home and looked through it it didn’t have a proper calendar in it?! I was so confused, it looks amazing and have lots of cool sections but no calendar. And I can’t really plan my days without a calendar.. So am back to looking for one!
- Making a few changes! I’ve been working on a few changes with the blog which will hopefully be revealed in the next few days:)
- Wishing for warmer weather. It’s honestly been so cold lately so I’ve been wishing for spring to come early for a little while now. Please come soon spring!
- To pack away my winter clothes. I’m so tired of big winter coats and woollen jumpers now. I want leather jackets and lots of spring colours!
- And finally, Valentines! My love is out of the country on Valentines and I won’t see home for some time after which sucks. So there will be pizza, ice cream and a movie for me!
Hello everyone! On payday I did some much needed shopping. In January my bank account has been looking rather skinny after all the holiday festivities so I was extremely excited to do some shopping.
I’ve been wanting to update my skin care routine and products for a little while now. At 25 the skin stops producing collagen and I’m not welcoming wrinkles anytime soon so I want to make sure that my skin is properly hydrated at treated at all times. I’ve been using micellar water since about the summer time and loving it, however, I’ve been noticing that my skin has been quite dry lately and having dry skin and not hydrating properly can lead to premature ageing of the skin which I definitely want to avoid. I got these products from Decleor which I have used before and I had honestly forgot how much I love. They’re so hydrating and gentle on skin and they smell like being in a spa. I have very sensitive skin and it gets red from anything but my skin definitely loves Decleor products because they are so delicate and gentle on skin.
I got this hair oil from It feels and smells amazing, I’ve been using it after washing my hair and it feels really nice and light weight in my hair, and my dry hair definitely needs some good oil. It contains three different oils and is free from silicon, definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a new hair oil!
Finally, I got two foundations. I haven’t gotten a new foundation after going to Hawaii in November and as my tanned has now sadly faded I had to get a new one. I ordered these two that have the same sponge application, from Loreal and Lancome. I’ve heard really good things so I’m excited to try both!
It’s the second month of the year! Personally, I feel like January past very slow and I was getting excited for February to get here. No wonder as December is such an eventful month with lots of celebrations, food, gifts and excitement and then comes January and you’re supposed to be a health kick, try new exercise methods and there’s a lack of money due to all the expenses in December. That’s a lot to handle and a lot of changes in a relatively short period of time.
That’s why I wanted to focus on wellbeing specifically for this time of the year. If you live somewhere where it’s cold at this time of the year it can be difficult to be motivated about healthy eating and exercise when you just want to be inside where it’s warm. There’s rarely any sun and, at least here in London, it’s a permanent grey weather that really dampens my mood. For me I don’t like to push myself to do to much, if I try and tackle every single area of my life that needs some attention I’m setting myself up for failure and I’ll feel 100% worse when I’m not performing to my (honestly too high) standard. So this is what I’m trying to do..
Focus on one thing in your life that you want to improve and let the others be. Do you want to exercise more? Learn new recipes? Read more books? Spend more time with your friends? Don’t try and do everything at once! Eventually there will be one thing that you wont have time for and you’ll end up feeling like you have failed when there’s simply not been enough time and life get’s in the way. Try to just focus on one thing. For February, try to focus on one thing that you’ve wanted to try or improve on and let the others go. Eventually you’ll get in to a routine where that one thing you want to improve on gets easier and then you can add something else. For me it’s exercise. I really like to exercise but through various excuses I haven’t done any exercise for the longest time, so I’ve now signed myself up for a gym! I’ve booked a class for Friday and I’m going to aim to go a couple times a week. I’m going to try and focus on just that and not try and be 100% perfect on everything going on in my life, and hopefully when I’ve gotten into a routine with exercise and can add something else in.
Let me know how it goes!
I’ve haven’t been able to post for a few days. The reason being that on Wednesday there was suddenly no wifi! And now we will probably not have internet for the next week (hopefully not any longer), which sucks. I hate internet problems, it’s so frustration especially when you’re unprepared for it.
I’m writing this in a busy Starbucks just of Regent street, just enjoying reading blogs and watching youtube. This is really making me realise how dependent I am on internet, for absolutely everything! I ended up going to bed at 22 yesterday despite not having to get up early today, simply because I was bored and didn’t know what to do. Haha, that’s sounds so bad. I definitely need to find something else to do with my time that doesn’t require internet.
I’ve did some shopping yesterday as it was payday on Friday (woho!) and I’ll do a little haul shortly to show you the goodies I found.
Edit: This post was so extremely difficult to post! I had so many issues with getting the pictures onto my computer, then the editing failed and the actually uploading the pictures failed several times and took hours so this will have to do for now!
Hello everyone, I’ve started the week laying in bed with the flu so not the greatest start. Thankfully I have the day off work so I can spend the entire day in bed and rest and get better for tomorrow.
I wanted to quickly share one of my current interior obsessions at the moment. There’s a few things that I absolutely love and that I have seen a few places and I can’t get them out of my head. The first is a blue velvet sofa, more specifically royal blue. Just have a look.
I love the drama and elegance that it adds. It also means that everything else can easily stay quite understated and with toned down colours yet still look put together and stylish. I would love to have this in a more formal sitting room or a separate space, or even in a big office would be amazing.
The other item if I can call it that that I’ve been drooling over for quite some time now is quartz kitchen countertops. I know that marble is a real trend now and that all trends fade quickly, but I love the look of it. So why did I say I’ve been drooling over quartz and not marble? Simply, I’m just trying to be slightly practical and marble stains easily and I’m one of the clumsiest people I know. It’s not a good match. Quartz is a lot sturdier, marks and stains do not show up and you can get it in a marble effect that’s simply beautiful.
